Temporary Directories#
When you submit your job, SLURM creates a temporary directory on the requested node on the local SSD drive.
The directory is mapped to the /tmp folder and is visible to only the user running the job.
Once the job ends, the directory will be deleted.
If your job uses many small files, or you need more performance, you will get a better result copying your data to /tmp before processing it.
Each node has about 200Gb of space for temp files. Please keep in mind this is a shared resourcee, so only use what you need.
